Inspired by Saint Boniface who felled Donnar's Oak in defiance of the false god. Legend has it that as he was cutting at the tree a great wind came and felled it before Boniface could complete the task. The onlookers were shocked that their god did not strike him down and quickly converted to Christianity as Boniface's God was, obviously, greater. Boniface was known for his missionary efforts in the area of Germania. He was martyred in 754 while continuing his efforts to spread the Gospel.
